2021-23 Piano Festival Workshop – It’s a Virtual Event!

Our 2021-23 Piano Festival Workshop covers the NCMTA Piano Performance Festival Repertoire for the next two festivals seasons. The workshop is a paid service of the North Carolina Music Teachers Association, and will remain available on our Vimeo channel, from September 2021 through June of 2023. MTNA Announces VP of Diversity

MTNA announces the appointment of William Chapman Nyaho as its first Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. In this newly created position, Chapman Nyaho will serve on the MTNA Board of Directors as a key member of the MTNA leadership. He will also chair a newly created MTNA Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, which is charged with advocating the values of diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the entire association—national, state and local.

Nomination for Teacher of the Year

The NCMTA Teacher of the Year Award program was established in 2008. This award recognizes a teacher who makes a significant difference in the lives of students, contributes to the advancement of music in a community, and is an outstanding example of a music educator.
