IMTF Scholarship Application returns each year!
The Independent Music Teachers Forum of the North Carolina Music Teachers Association 2025 Scholarship Application. Deadline September 24, 2025.
NCMTA offers a $750 scholarship for Advanced Research through the Independent Music Teachers Forum. The scholarship can be used for a variety of advanced study interests. The award is announced and presented at the NCMTA Conference Banquet each fall. The recipient has one year from the date of receiving the award to complete their project.
Pursue Your Professional Dreams
Do you have an area of music study or a project that you have been dreaming of pursuing? With this resource, you can take lessons with a fantastic teacher, spend time reviewing manuscripts, and explore new music in all its diverse forms. You are the navigator of your pursuits. Past recipients have used scholarship money to further their knowledge about their instrument (whether a keyboard, vocal, or instrumental focus, and so much more). We encourage you to apply by the deadline – 9/24/25!
Application Process
The application process is straightforward and clear, utilizing our Google Form. Questions related to your education, teaching philosophy, professional affiliation and activities, performance, and teaching load will be part of the application process. This year’s application deadline is September 24, 2025. The registration portal will be available below. Guidelines include:
- We invite applications from independent music teachers who are members of NCMTA and MTNA for this scholarship.
- Recipients are encouraged to pursue a meaningful and achievable research objective that aligns with the IMTF scholarship and will be shared at the next annual state conference.
- This scholarship supports individual initiative research rather than degree-related research and is dedicated to research efforts and not intended for application fees or entries.
