Note: With the online festival, the distinction of districts, and therefore separate district dates, is unnecessary. Therefore, the dates shown are for everyone statewide.
2021 District and State Performance Festival Dates - Piano and Voice
2021 DistrictPerformance Festival Dates - ROUND 1 (aka "District")
February 13—Online Registration Deadline
March 6—Video Submission Deadline. All "district" videos must be uploaded to YouTube (logistical details to follow)
March 21—Deadline for all assessments and marks to be completed by adjudicators
March 27—Deadline to return adjudicators' assessments and marks to teachers
2021 State DivisionPerformance Festival - ROUND 2 (aka "State")
April 3—Registration Deadline
April 17—Video Submission Deadline. All "state division" videos must be uploaded to YouTube (students to submit different videos from the ones provided for "district")
May 2—Deadline for all assessments and marks to be completed by adjudicators
May 8—Deadline to return adjudicators' assessments and marks to teachers
This timeline allows for a weekend to process the administrative responsibilities once the videos are submitted. Adjudicators have 14 days to complete all assessments (Mar 8-21). An added week should suffice to return the assessments to the teachers (Mar 22-27).
IMPORTANT TO KNOW: Round 1 Highest Honors students will have 1 week by which to register for Round 2 (Mar 27-Apr 3) and 2 more weeks of practice before the April 17 video submission deadline. The administrative turnaround is the same as Round 1.
Please direct any questions or concerns to Frank Pittman (pianofestival@ncmta.org). He will be providing specific instructions for registering and uploading videos as time draws near.
